Druk Path Trek

Day 1: Arrival

  • Arrive at Paro International Airport, where your adventure in Bhutan begins.
  • Meet your professional guide, who will be holding a placard.
  • Exchange introductions and pleasantries, because a warm welcome is our specialty.
  • Receive a khadhar—a traditional scarf to welcome you warmly.
  • Enjoy a bouquet of flowers, a small token to make you feel right at home.
  • Be escorted to your vehicle for a smooth drive to your hotel.
  • Check in, then unwind with an evening stroll around the picturesque Paro Valley.

Day 2: Hike to Taktshang

  • Start your day early to make the most of your hike.
  • Depart for Taktshang, also known as the Tiger’s Nest.
  • Begin your hike from the trailhead. It’s a bit of a climb, but the views are worth it.
  • Arrive at Taktshang and explore the serene, surreal environment.
  • Descend back to the base. Enjoy the descent—it’s much easier going down!
  • Return to the hotel to rest and recharge.
  • Optional: An evening stroll around Paro’s main street for a bit more exploration.

Day 3: Trekking to Jili Dzong (4-5 hours)

  • An early morning start to hike towards Jili Dzong (3,490 m).
  • Enjoy the serene air and breathtaking mountain views.
  • Stroll around yak pastures and immerse yourself in nature.
  • Camping at Jili Dzong.

Day 4: Trekking to Jangchub Temple (4-5 hours)

  • Begin your day early with a hike towards Jangchub Temple (3,780 m).
  • Explore the serenity of this ancient temple amidst the mountains.
  • Experience the peaceful yak pastures surrounding the area.
  • Camping at Jangchub Temple.

Day 5: Trekking to Jimi Langtsho (4-5 hours)

  • After a hearty mountain breakfast, set off on a hike towards Jimi Langtsho (3,880 m), a lake with spiritual significance.
  • Explore the diverse flora and immerse yourself in the deep mountains of Bhutan.
  • Camping at Jimi Langtsho.

Day 6: Trekking to Simkota (4-5 hours)

  • Begin the day early with a hike towards Simkota (4,040 m).
  • Explore the pristine Jahnye Lake nestled amidst the mountains.
  • Camp at Simkota, where the tranquility of nature surrounds you.

Day 7: Descend towards Thimphu (5-6 hours)

  • Enjoy a final mountain breakfast before starting your descent.
  • A short hike will take you to Pumola (4,210 m), the highest point of the trek.
  • Explore Phajoding Temple, a spiritual haven in the mountains.
  • Descend towards Thimphu, Bhutan’s vibrant capital.
  • Arrive at the trailhead and drive to your hotel for check-in and rest.

Day 8: Explore the Capital of Bhutan

  • Start the day with a delicious breakfast.
  • Visit the largest sitting Buddha, who’s always happy to see new faces.
  • Explore the Memorial Stupa, a serene spot for reflection.
  • Enjoy lunch and some leisure time.
  • Tour the majestic Tashichhodzong Fortress, where history and architecture meet.
  • Visit the Institute of Zorig Chusum, where you can marvel at Bhutan’s traditional arts and crafts.
  • Head back to the hotel to rest and refresh.
  • Optional: An evening stroll around Thimphu city to soak in the local atmosphere.

Day 9: Departure

  • Enjoy breakfast and check out of the hotel.
  • Drive towards Paro Airport, where your departure gifts await as a fond farewell.
  • Depart with memories of an unforgettable Bhutanese adventure.
