Enjoy a bouquet of flowers, a small gesture of hospitality. Be escorted to your vehicle for a smooth drive to your hotel. Check in, then unwind with an evening stroll around the picturesque Paro Valley. Day 2: Hike to Taktshang Start your day early to make the most of your hike. Depart for Taktshang, also known as the Tiger’s Nest. Begin your hike from the trailhead. It’s a bit of a climb, but the views are worth it. Arrive at Taktshang and explore the serene, surreal environment. Descend back to the base. Enjoy the descent—it’s much easier going down! Return to the hotel to rest and recharge. Optional: An evening stroll around Paro’s main street for a bit more exploration. Essentials for the hike: Hiking gear: Sturdy footwear, a light backpack, and sun protection. Rain gear: Hats, an umbrella, and raincoats. The weather can be unpredictable. Water for hydration: Keep yourself refreshed. Medication: If prescribed, it’s always good to be prepared. Availabilities: Cafeteria: For refreshments and snacks. Rest stops: Take a break during your hike. Restrooms: For your convenience along the way. Hiking horses: Available if you prefer not to hike the entire way. Day 3: Trekking to Shana (4-5 hours) After breakfast, drive to Drugyel Dzong to explore this historic fortress. Begin your trek towards Shana (2,850 m), immersing yourself in Bhutan’s natural beauty. Camp at Shana for the night. Day 4: Trekking to Thangthangkha (7-8 hours) Enjoy a morning breakfast before setting out on your trek. Hike towards Thangthangkha (3,610 m) through Jigme Dorji National Park. Continue your journey, surrounded by the tranquility of nature. Camp at Thangthangkha. Day 5: Trekking to Base Camp (4-5 hours) After breakfast, explore the yak herders’ surroundings as you trek towards the base camp. Experience one of the most beautiful campsites in the Himalayas. Camp at the Jhomolhari Base Camp (Jangothang, 4,115 m). Day 6: Halt at Base Camp Take a day to rest and explore the area around the base camp. Venture onto hikes near the campsite, soaking in the majestic views of the Himalayas. Experience the serenity to your heart’s content. Day 7: Trekking to Lingshi (6-7 hours) Begin your day with breakfast before trekking towards Lingshi. Enjoy breathtaking views of Jhomolhari, Jichu Darkey, and Tshermgang as you make your way. Camp at Lingshi (4,010 m) for the night. Day 8: Trek towards Shodu (8-9 hours) After breakfast, ascend and explore Yelila Pass, experiencing the distinct flora and fauna of the region. Camp at Shodu (4,080 m), surrounded by the peacefulness of the mountains. Day 9: Trek towards Barshong (5-6 hours) Begin your trek towards Barshong after a hearty breakfast. Explore the serene environment and descend to your next campsite. Camp at Barshong (3,710 m). Day 10: Trek towards Dodena (7-8 hours) Enjoy your final mountain breakfast before beginning your descent towards Thimphu. Take in one last breath of fresh mountain air as you explore diverse fauna and flora. Arrive at the cantilever bridge and drive towards the capital city, Thimphu. Arrive and check in at your hotel to rest and relax. Day 11: Explore Thimphu Start the day with a delicious breakfast. Visit the largest sitting Buddha, who’s always happy to see new faces. Explore the Memorial Stupa, a serene spot for reflection. Enjoy lunch and some leisure time. Tour the majestic Tashichhodzong Fortress, where history and architecture meet. Visit the Institute of Zorig Chusum, where you can marvel at Bhutan’s traditional arts and crafts. Head back to the hotel to rest and refresh. Optional: An evening stroll around Thimphu city to soak in the local atmosphere. Day 12: Departure Enjoy breakfast and check out of the hotel. Drive towards Paro Airport, where your departure gifts await as a fond farewell. Depart with memories of an adventurous Bhutan experience.
