Bumthang Cultural Tour

Day 1: Arrival

  • Arrive at Paro International Airport, where your Bhutanese adventure begins.

  • Exchange introductions and pleasantries, starting your journey with a warm welcome.
  • Receive a khadhar, a traditional scarf symbolizing our hospitality.
  • Enjoy a bouquet of flowers, a small gesture of warm welcome.
  • Be escorted to your designated vehicle for a drive to Thimphu, the capital city.
  • Check in at your hotel and settle in.
  • Take an evening stroll around Thimphu town to get acquainted with your surroundings.

Day 2: Travel to Bumthang

  • After breakfast, check out and take a brief stroll around Thimphu’s main street.
  • Begin your journey towards Bumthang.
  • Stop at Dochula Pass to enjoy the scenic views and take a break.
  • Have lunch and rest en route.
  • Continue to Yutongla Pass for another scenic stop.
  • Arrive in Bumthang and check into your hotel.
  • Optional: Take an evening stroll around the Bumthang town area to explore at your leisure.

Day 3: Explore Bumthang

  • Start your day with breakfast before heading out for exploration.
  • Visit Jakar Fortress, a key historical site in Bumthang.
  • Explore Mebartsho, also known as the Burning Lake—an important pilgrimage site.
  • Enjoy lunch and some rest.
  • Visit Kurjey Temple, a significant religious site.
  • Explore Jambay Temple, Tamzhing Temple, and Kenchosum Temple, each offering unique cultural insights.
  • Return to your hotel to relax after a day full of exploration.

Day 4: Explore Ura

  • Have breakfast and prepare for a journey towards Ura.
  • Visit local communities in the Ura Valley to experience traditional village life.
  • Enjoy lunch and continue your exploration.
  • Visit the ongoing construction of a 138-ft stupa, a noteworthy project in the area.
  • Explore Ura Temple, an important spiritual site.
  • Drive back to your hotel.
  • Enjoy an evening hot stone bath to relax after your day.

Day 5: Travel Back to Punakha

  • Breakfast and check out as you prepare to head to Punakha.
  • Take a breather at Yutongla Pass during your journey.
  • Enjoy lunch on the way.
  • Arrive in Punakha and check into your hotel.
  • Visit Punakha Fortress, a historical and architectural marvel.
  • Walk across the longest suspension bridge in Bhutan—an experience not to be missed.
  • Return to your room and rest after a day of sightseeing.

Day 6: Travel Back to Paro

  • After breakfast and check-out, journey towards Paro.
  • Arrive in Thimphu and enjoy lunch and a stroll around the main street.
  • Continue your journey to Paro.
  • Visit Tachog Temple, a site rich in history and culture.
  • Arrive in Paro, check into your hotel, and unwind.
  • Visit the Paro Valley Bird-Eye View Point for a stunning panorama of the valley.

Day 7: Departure

  • Enjoy breakfast and check out of your hotel.
  • Arrive at the airport, where departure gifts will be shared as a token of our appreciation.
  • Depart with wonderful memories of your Bhutanese adventure.
